A mixed media card

Today I will show you this mixed media card I made on a  class at My Sketch World a while ago.

The background is build up with resist tequnice, stencils and three different colors of mists. I have decorated with clouds and a strip of gauze and washitape that I have wrinkle. In the corner I put some gesso and then stamped ”Thank you” with Primas alfabetstamps, I really love those fonts! I mounted it on a bigger piece of cardstock wich I stamped a border around.

This is a different card from what I use to make and at first I didn´t like how it turned out at all but over time it has grown on me and now I think it´s really nice and personal:)

Have a nice day!

Mixed media canvas with music in your ears

I have done a mixed media canvas with some ATC cards on top. First I painted a layer with gesso on the canvas and then I used different acrylic paints together with stencils and stamps. This part is so fun, if you are not  satisfied with something at your background canvas you can just repaint with another acrylic paint or gesso or cover it with mists, stencils or stamps and the result became unexpected and unique and hopefully fine:)

I made an ATC with the theme classical music. I choose a beige/brown colorcombo because I think it´s typical classic music. I covered the ATC with sheet music and stamps with music theme.

The second ATC represents rock. I choosed red/white/black and silver to emphasize the theme. I have used a starstencil together with white acrylic paint. I also used sheets music. The big notestamps and the textstamp are from Inkadinkado. I sew the stars with sew easy from We R Memorykeepers.

The third music ATC has a bluestheme with blue/white/black colours. The gituar is from Inkadinkado and the text is alfabetstamps from Prima

Creative Jumpstart- tag 2

Another tag with inspiration from Creative Jumpstart. This time I´ve played around with inspiration from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. I have used different stencils together with acrylic paint, dylusionmist and inkpads in different layers to make depth. Julie is such a inspirationsource!

Mabye you have noticed that I often use a heart on my projects right now, even on this one LOL

My thoughts about 2013

Ziro, together with a couple of other girls has started a blog ”Art for myself” in purpose to make an Art journaling over the year with different themes. The blog is open for everyone to create art journaling work within the theme and load them up there. This month the theme is ”My thoughts about 2013″

I have covered the background with turqouise acrylic paint, then I put a thin layer of white acrylic paint and swapped carefully over the page with a babywipe before it dry just to get a white transparent layer. Then i used a couple of different stamps, stamped with Rangers Archival Ink (waterproof).

I cut out the heart from ordinary white paper. Then I used red distressink together with a stencil. I stamped some swirls and hearts on it. When I used decopageglue to seal the layer and glue the heart on the background some of the red from the distressink spread out a little, actually this was perfect because the heart was very bright white before so this helpt to melt it together with the background.

About the theme: I remind myself to be happy this year, to be happy means for me; be honest to myself, test new things, do what I want and so on. All this things together makes me happy. This is my newyear resolution to myself!

Creative Jumpstart – Tag

This month Nathalie Kalbach has gathered a whole bunch of talented artists to get us out there more creative!! And this is superfun!! Every day one of the artist send you a little video with different things, tutorials, tips etc. The red thread is to inspire and they have succeded, I can tell you!! Here is a tag I made from a video with Heidi Swapp who teaught us how to mist and stamp within masks and stencils. This tag is my take on this:

I made a heartstencil out of a paper. Then I used a stencil and a Maya Road Limemetallic mist, on that I sprayed coppermistfrom Tattered Angels, to get more effect. After it dried I stamped a couple of different stamps. On the little heart I added a button. I´m very pleased with my first take in the Creative Jumpstart 2013

Christmas card in mixed media style

A couple of days ago I was challenged by Cecilia Ekström to make a christmascard in mixed media style with the colors turqouise and brown, easy peasy NOT:) but here it is:

I covered a bit of cardstock with turqouise acrylic paint. On top of that I used dylusions stencil ”Ooh christmas tree” . The stars are made of another dylusions stencil. I also used my yellow and orange Big Brush Pens for the stars together with acrylic paint. I used a withe pen for all the outlines and for the snow and glitter in the trees. The alphabet is this lite tiny stamps from Prima. I love how they turn out, a little awry:). The striped paper is from Jillibean Soup.

Have you done some christmascards yet? What´s your style? traditional or crazy? Mabye you should get out of your comfortzone and try something new and different this year?

The butterfly and the little angel is patternpaper från Pink Paislee. The starter for this mixedmedia page was a sketchchallange in the forum Svensk Scrapbooking midsummercrop.

For some time ago I went to the scrapevent ”Scrapbooking med hjärta”. This canvas is my result from the workshop with the very talented mixed media artist, Nathalie Kalbach from Hamburg. On the canvas I´ve ”stamped” stencils into gesso for some structure and dimensions. Then I added some gauze and metaldecorations and then different mists. Here is one of few photos of me when I´m not closing my eyes. I´m expert on that when I´m infront of the camera:). I had a great time doing this canvas. It takes a lot of time to dry between the layers so there was a lot of time to talk with both new and old scrapfriends.

Smarrigt recept….

I love it!!! En av stämplarna är en kollagestämpel som jag stämplat på en boksida och sedan rivit sönder och fäst på bakgrunden.

About ”In action”:

This LO was for Svensk Scrapbookings recepie challengin in february. I made the background with white cardstock and green Big Brush Pens. The pattern papers is created from a bookpage that I tore into stripes. The dotted red paper is one of my biggest favorites from Crate Paper. I love it!! One of the stamps is a collagestamp with I stamped on a bookpage and then thorn it in stripes.
